Halloween has come and gone! We are now thinking about Thanksgiving here in the US. I wanted to do a craft with the kids for this month's All Things Kids Series but was not sure what. We have been enjoying paper bag crafts. So we ended up making classic Scarecrow Paper Bags. A fun craft for kids of multiple ages. And a great way to get in the spirit of Fall and the Thanksgiving holiday coming up for us.
What we used:
brown paper bags
yellow gift wrap ribbon
orange and yellow paper
What we did:
I pre cut hats and noses for the kids. My boys are 2yr and 6yr. I sat out the hats, buttons, eyes... and let them help pick out what they wanted to use.
They then got the glue stick out and started gluing on the hat, eyes, nose...
I ended up having to go back and pull the hat up a little to glue the "hair" in for them.
I left them so the glue would dry. Later I came back and added the mouth with a marker. The kids can do this too. I went ahead and did it on my own.
We did not turn these into puppets. I am thinking we could even use these as treat bags for a class party.
I hope you and the kids can enjoy creating a scarecrow too.
